The world’s largest publicly traded Ethereum holder, Bitmine Immersion (stock ticker: BMNR), announced that last week it purchased an additional 35,268 ETH, bringing its total holdings to over 4.2 million ETH.
According to the statement, as of January 30, Bitmine held a total of 4,203,036 ETH, worth approximately $12.8 billion, representing 3.5% of the total circulating ETH supply.
In addition to ETH, Bitmine also holds 193 Bitcoin, $22 million worth of Eightco equity, and $9.79 billion in cash, with total assets around $14.5 billion.
On the other hand, Bitmine has staked 1.83 million ETH, an increase of 580,000 ETH from the previous week, accounting for about 43% of its total holdings. Chairman Tom Lee stated that Bitmine is the largest single institutional staker of ETH globally. Once fully deployed, it is expected to generate over $370 million annually in staking rewards.
Bitmine also revealed that at the shareholder meeting on January 15, a proposal to “increase authorized shares” was approved with 81% of the votes, meaning Bitmine will have more ammunition to continue buying ETH.
Tom Lee disclosed that the company’s ultimate goal is to acquire 5% of the total ETH supply (about 6 million ETH). He emphasized that the company will adhere to the principle of issuing new shares “not below net asset value (NAV)” to ensure the rights of existing shareholders are not diluted.
